Brandi Petterson was born in St. Augustine, Florida and grew up in Palm Coast, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2003. While she remains a devoted Florida Gator fan and enjoys visits back to the beach, she decided to make Colorado her home because of the wonderful people and the beautiful scenery. Brandi graduated with both her L.L.M. and J.D. in 2007 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Prior to becoming a partner with Sauer & Petterson Family Law, Brandi was a Senior Associate Attorney with a large family law firm in the Denver Metro area and focused exclusively on family law matters. Previously, Brandi was a Judicial Law Clerk Fellow to the Honorable Judge Hannen of the 18th Judicial District. Her tenure as a practicing family law attorney and judicial clerk has not only lead to years of practical and legal experience, but has also provided her with direct insight to the bench, which she continues to leverage to this day.
In addition to representing parties involved in divorce and family law cases, Brandi volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, which allows her to make recommendations to the court concerning the best interests of the children.
Unique to Brandi’s practice is her keen ability to focus exclusively on her clients. She pursues their interests as if they were her own, while coupling years of experience, to reach a successful representation. At times, it may be in the client’s best interest to settle a case through mediation or other negotiations. Of course, when settlement is not an option, Brandi is an experienced litigator in all courts surrounding the Denver Metro area.
Families can take various forms. They are ever changing whether it be through the addition of a child, divorce, change in custody, passing, or the like. In times of change, trust will be the cornerstone of any attorney you may employ to represent you. Brandi feels that trust is earned in every case, which she builds through knowledge, experience, voice, action and persistence.
When not advocating on behalf of her clients, Brandi enjoys all that Colorado has to offer, from the lakes to the mountains to family and friends.
You have several cases throughout Greenwood Village? Let me help on all of them! You live in a rural area in Colorado? No problem! I travel to legal clients throughout nearly a quarter of the state of Colorado. You’re not sure what category of law you need help with? No big deal! I practice criminal defense on a number of different types of cases. I sought out experience in many different legal practice areas in order to prepare for solo practice at my own law firm. I also have a large network of attorneys to whom I can refer cases. You wonder if a law firm is a reputable business? I have Accounting and Political Science degrees through the Honors Program at Colorado State University, so I know what it takes to run my own business. Founding Nicol Gersch Petterson has been a long-term business plan for me for decades. Nicol Gersch Petterson emphasizes that no two cases are the same. Each case will receive personalized attention and zealous advocacy from our team.
